If you have any allergies, food intolerances such as lactose, gluten or special requests, then please let reception or the service team know directly. Our kitchen team will be happy to cater for this. An extra charge of € 12.00 per day will be made for histamine-free food. Raw materials, cheese products and meat from the region are mainly used in our DAS GERSTL kitchen, consequently the vegan dishes are not in line with our r30 philosophy.

We would be happy to do our utmost to achieve the best possible culinary experience for you.

A surcharge of 15.00 € per day applies for vegan food.

You can reach DAS GERSTL Alpine Retreat in Burgeis via the most beautiful Alpine passes:
as you come from the north via the Reschen Pass, from the west via the Ofen and Fluela Passes, and from the south via Bozen/Bolzano, Meran/Merano, Mals/Malles Venosta and Burgeis/Burgusio. 

The Hotel is situated in the direction of Schlinig and the Watles skiing and hiking resort. You can reach us from the nearest major town of Mals via Burgeis, passing the Marienberg monastery, in approx. 10 minutes (7 km).

If you are travelling by public transport, we will pick you up free of charge at the train station in Malles/Mals on the day of arrival and bring you back there on the day of departure.

Let us spoil you with breakfast on your day of arrival and then experience the wellness area until your room/suite is ready for you to move into - for an extra charge of 30.00 € per person.
We charge 18.00 € per person for use of the wellness area before your check-in (without breakfast).

Enjoy our spacious wellness area at no extra charge until 15:00 on your day of departure. Feel free to use the spa bag with bathrobes and sauna towels right up until your final departure. Anything consumed after check-out will be charged directly at the Marble Bar. You are welcome to enjoy our fine selection of cakes in the afternoon for a little refreshment before you leave. We charge 18.00 € per person if you wish to extend your wellness day into the evening.

CONSTRUCION WORK ON THE RESCHEN PASS STATE ROAD B180 ALTERNATIVE DRIVING ROUTE FROM SEPTEMBER 2024

Notice for our guests: Please note that the Reschen Pass state road B180 will be temporarily closed between Kajetansbrücke/Pfunds and Nauders from September 2024 until the end of 2026 due to construction work for a rockfall gallery.

During the closure periods, we recommend using the detour route through Switzerland to avoid the affected road sections. This detour via the Engadin Road (B184) and the Martinsbruck Road (B185) takes about 10 minutes longer than the regular route, depending on traffic.

What if everything suddenly changes and you can't go on holiday as planned? It is always unpleasant to have to cancel - for you as well as for us. We kindly ask for your understanding. Room cancellations shall only be accepted in writing.

- Cancellation up to 14 days prior to arrival: free of charge; deposits will be refunded or recognised as credit
- Cancellation within 14 days prior to arrival: 80% of the half board price will be charged
- Late arrival or early departure: 80% of the total amount of the remaining nights of your stay
- Cancellation for a group of 3 rooms or more: free of charge up to 40 days prior to arrival | within 40 days prior to arrival, 80% of the luxury board price will be charged

Your loyal four-legged friend is more than welcome at DAS GERSTL Alpine Retreat.
We charge 28.00 €  per day (without food) in our double rooms and suites. It is also possible to bring your four-legged friend with you in some selected suites with whirlpool bath (40.00 € , without food).
There is a hiking trail directly behind the hotel, perfect for walking your dog.

We will be happy to reserve a nice table for you in our hotel bar if you would like to bring your dog for breakfast and dinner.

Our preference is to work with companies, producers and farmers within a maximum radius of 30 kilometres. Most of the ingredients we serve come from the Vinschgau region. In this respect, we focus on short transport routes and long-term partnerships. At DAS GERSTL, the R30 guarantee doesn’t stop with our culinary delights, but extends to the wellness treatments on offer in our Venosta SPA, which are also adorned with the R30 seal in our SPA brochures. If you would like to forego the usual daily room cleaning - even if it's just for one day - feel free to cancel this directly in the hotel app, or let your room attendant or reception know. We will donate 2.00 €  to the South Tyrol research project to combat the bark beetle and support the forests for every room cleaning you cancel.
